This is how algo trading works on Algo Tradex Mind, from a blank account to a strategy that trades on its own. Manual options trading asks you to be at the screen at 09:15, react within seconds and stay disciplined after three losing days in a row. Automation removes the parts a person does badly — timing, consistency and sticking to a stop — and leaves you the part only you can do: deciding the plan.
How algo trading works, step by step
1. Start on paper, then connect your broker
Every account starts with a simulated ₹10 lakh paper book using real lot sizes and real margin rules. When you are ready, connect one of the supported brokers through its official API. Your money stays in your broker account.
2. Write the rules once
Choose the underlying, the legs and the times — or build an indicator rule. Add stops, targets and trailing per leg, and a maximum loss for the day.
3. Test before you risk anything
Run the strategy on past sessions and read the equity curve, drawdown, per-trade log and charges. The report states its own assumptions, so you know exactly what was simulated.
4. Deploy and step away
Switch the strategy on for paper or live trading. The engine enters, manages and squares off on schedule on our servers — your laptop does not need to stay on — and you can stop it from your phone at any time.
Trading in derivatives carries risk of loss. Backtests and paper results do not guarantee live returns. Algo Tradex Mind is a software platform, not a SEBI-registered investment adviser, and nothing here is investment advice.
